The City with a heart of gold, Timmins, is celebrating four years of centennials beginning in 2009 with commemorating the discovery of gold in the Porcupine Camp. 2010 marks the 100th Anniversary of the major mines, Hollinger, McIntyre and the Dome. 2011 commemorates the great Porcupine Fire and 2012 marks the 100th Anniversary of the incorporation of the Town of Timmins.
